Creating “Homepage” (Front Page)

Step 1. Create “Hemepage”

 

From your site WP dashboard, add a new page, assign Home or Home 2 template to it, name it “Home” or similar

Tip: to creata a pget to to: Pages -> Add New

Step 2. Set a static front page

 

Before going any further you need to freshly created page as a front page. By default WordPress displays the latest posts there – to change please do the following

  1. Go to Settings -> Reading 
  2. Front page displays -> A static page
  3. From the dropdown choose your page

Step 3. Customize your “Homepage”

 

There are different options, depending what template you have chosen. There is Home and Home 2 template. They share some options but some are template exclusive.

When setting your Homepage you have options in two places.

Theme Settings -> Home or Home 2

and settings which are available at the bottom of your page, in so called metaboxes.

 

Step 4. Home template settings overview

 

 

Options below can be found in: Theme Setting -> Home

 

  1. Show title – lets you hide you page title, which be defaults appears on your homepage
  2. Break line in navigation after – lets you decide how many positions appears in a single line ie. if you set it to 3, and there is a total of 6 positions in your navigations. They will appear in two lines. If left empty, all positions appears in one line.
  3. Title font size – default size results from CSS and adapts itself to look at good as possible across all screen sizes, you can override it but the “adaptive” function will not work, your front size will your declared value ie. 34px
  4. Latter spacing – same as above but in regards to spaces between characters
  5. Show decoration – lets you disable decorative element, it’s enabled at the start. Set to circle.
  6. Decoration position – lets you define the position of the element
  7. Footer content – displays your footer content on homepage

1. Select navigation type – by navigation we refer to the combination of logo and hamburger menu. On your homepage, you can disable Hamburger menu, this navigation method is available on all pages but hamburger can be disabled exclusively on homepage.

We have 4 navigation combinations:

  • Small Logo – light version (intended for dark backgrounds)
  • Big logo – light version (intended for dark backgrounds)
  • Small Logo- dark version (intended for light backgrounds)
  • Big Logo – dark version (intended for ligh backgrounds)

 

2. Show burger (hamburger) nav – lets you disable your hamburger navigation

3. Select home background – lets you choose how your homepage looks & works. Some additional settings may appear in your metaboxes, depending now homepage background

  • Static background – uses featured image & our parallax effect
  • Full screen slider – lets your upload multiple images, there are some additional slider-only related settings here
  • Video background – lets your use Youtube video as your background, there are some additional video-only related settings here
  • Revolution slider – lets you chose Revolution Slider created slider. You need to install and create RS slider first NOTE: you need to disable AJAX for it to work properly, Go to: Theme Settings -> General -> Enable AJAX transitions

4. Color overlay -lets you choose the overly color that appears “above” background

5. Slect mask – lets your choose what mask (pattern) appears “above” background
